November has been a month of completions and preparation. Dick completed his teaching course with Certificate students at George Whitefield College. They graduated yesterday and Dick is happy that most of them are either going on into a teaching ministry or planning to study further.
Caroline’s first GWC Masters student completed his dissertation and graduated with a commendation. Gerard is from Zimbabwe and is going on to do mission work among students on campus at the University of Cape Town (photo attached).
During this month, Dick has upgraded some of the teaching materials, writing a new section and preparing the existing books for re-printing. We have managed to complete plans for 2020 and start working on the budgets and finding the funding sources. In the first half of 2020, we will be working mostly in southern Africa and in the second half of the year we will be running training courses across the continent and further abroad. We plan to be back in the UK for home leave at the end of the year.
In the month of January, please pray for:
Ugandan Deanery Conference at GWC, 7-11 January. We will both be teaching several sessions.
Postgraduate supervisors’ training in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Caroline attending.
Theological Education Training Conference in Zambia, 21-25 January. Dick will be leading 6 sessions.
We are taking the first two weeks of December for some rest and relaxation in the Cederberg mountains not far from Cape Town. We probably won’t send out another prayer update before 2020, so we send our warmest greetings to you and your families for Christmas and the New Year.
With our love in Christ and with grateful thanks for your fellowship in the Gospel,
Caroline and Dick
