Dear Family and Friends
Christmas is always a time to be with loved ones and to enjoy them. For many, Christmas is party time after a hard year’s work.
However we need to stop and ask whether we have a correct understanding of what Christmas really is and means.
The central focus of Christmas from a Biblical perspective is the miracle of God taking on human flesh … remaining fully God and in the flesh, being totally sinless.
His mission to our planet was first mentioned in Genesis … 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
That is the first Messianic Promise and is fulfilled in Matthew … 121 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
1:23 “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”—which means, “God with us.”
Far too much focus is placed on a baby in a manger without understanding the Virgin Birth and Incarnation.
May you be blessed this Christmas as you ponder these things … resulting in spiritual growth … or spiritual conversion.
With much love in Jesus … the Greatest Purpose Ever
